You need to know about service

You can drive in Zanzibar on a valid driving licence from your home country, together with your passport. For non-English licences we recommend bringing an International Driving Permit (IDP). Visitors also need a Zanzibar Tourist Driving Permit, which now costs $20 (a fee set by the local government office) — and we take care of the whole process for you: just send us photos of your driving licence, your passport and a passport-size photo before pickup and we’ll have the local permit ready, so you can hit the road legally within minutes of collecting your vehicle.

Every rental includes basic insurance as standard — with no hidden fees or surprise charges at pickup or return. All our vehicles are fully maintained and roadworthy, and 24/7 roadside assistance is included for the whole rental period. If you’d like additional cover for extra peace of mind, just let us know when you book and we’ll arrange it.

We accept cash only — paid in person when you collect your vehicle. We do not take card payments or bank transfers, and there is nothing to pay upfront to reserve your car. Simply confirm your booking by WhatsApp or through the contact form, and pay in cash (USD or Tanzanian Shillings) when you pick up the car.

Plans change, and we keep things stress-free with free cancellation. You can adjust your dates, vehicle or pickup details, or cancel your booking at no charge — just message us as early as you can so we can update your reservation. Because there’s no prepayment, you’re never locked in.

Yes — we offer baby and child seats for an extra $2 per day. Just tell us your child's age when you book (by WhatsApp or the contact form) and we'll have the right seat fitted and ready when you collect your car.
